MINUTES Membership Business Meeting
January 06 2009

The meeting was called to order by Geoff Haynes, N1GY, President, at 7:00 PM
We gave the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.
Introductions were held, those attending were counted and a quorum was established.
The minutes from the previous meetings were accepted as published on the web site www.manatee-arc.org.

Geoff announced that we have a change in the treasurers position, Dave Thomas has become quite ill and is moving north to be with his son and Frank Morton in the in term treasurer. The treasurers report is published on our web site. Frank's wife Mary Ellen KC4ZZX who is a cpa has audited the books and found all in order.

The treasurers report as read by Geoff was voted on and approved.

Frank collected 2009 dues and Bob gave out member ship cards with "Paid" marked on the back to serve as your receipt.

Geoff announced the speakers for this evening Buddy WB4OMG and his wife Lynda KF4TPW, the subject is Digital Radio.

Geoff announced that he had had a catastrophic failure at his home on Dec. 12, a hot water line broke during the night and flooded his entire home, he has moved to 904 52 Ave. Blvd. W. his problem now is getting back on the air, he needs help it putting up antennas and ask any one that can help to call.

Frank Morton said he has some new call sheets for AREAS, if you need one contact him.

There was no new business and the meeting was turned over to Buddy Morgan, WB4OMG, for his presentation on Digital Radio. Lynda spoke first and gave a very interesting talk at our level, then Buddy spoke at a higher level. I learned quite a bit about D Star and thank them for their time and a very interesting presentation.
