MINUTES Membership Business Meeting
May 6th 2008
The meeting was called to order by Geoff Haynes, N1GY, President, at 7:00 PM
We pledged allegiance to the flag
Introductions were held, those attending were counted and a quorum was established.
The minutes from the previous meetings were accepted as published on the web site www.manatee_arc.org.
The treasures report was given and accepted.
New Business:
Frank Morton reported that a VE session will be held on the third Saturday of June, Anyone wishing to upgrade please contact Frank for more information.
Club Shirts: At this time we are 4 shirts short of having an order of 24, Geoff described the shirts in detail.
50/50 tickets were sold.
Election of officers was brought up, Geoff had written the names from the election committee on the white board for all to see.

The floor was then opened for nominations, none were presented, so by vote from the secretary the slate was accepted as listed.
Introductions were then held around the room.
Bob brought up the fact that he had been lax in giving out membership cards, anyone that hasn’t received their card please contact Bob Somerville, KD4EFT.
Jerry Johnson read an email from Steve White bringing us up to date on Hal’s condition.
Geoff announced that the Board meeting will be held at 7:00PM on the 20th of May at his QTH, everyone is invited
Bob sent out a memo on the club history and asked the following question, “Did Charley Brooks get the Ham of the Year Award more then once?” The members thought yes, is was either 1994 or 1995, and again in 2001, 2002 or 2003. Bob accepted that and will update the Club History and will be published on the web site www.Manatee-ARC.org
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting.
The 50/50 was held for the printer first, several tickets were drown until Rich won it, the cash prize was won by yours truly and I was so excited I didn’t get the name of the second winner.
